Fast Five with Dr Amy Goh
1. What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to build strong relationships with women and seeing the positive changes in their gynaecological as well as overall health. It is a huge privilege that these women have chosen to trust me with some of their most private health matters.
2. What job did you want as a kid?
From as far back as I can remember I’ve always wanted to be a doctor. I briefly dabbled with the dream of being an astronaut when I was about 8, until someone told me astronauts couldn’t wear glasses. I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to live my dream.
3. What’s the bravest thing you’ve done?
Moving across the world to a new country for university at the age of 17. Although I had grown up moving a lot, I was just so excited to finally be able to see and experience the world by myself.
4. What is your favourite hobby?
I’m basically a grandma at heart - I love playing piano, doing sewing/craft projects, reading, watching TV and puzzles like crosswords. I used to also love playing ultimate frisbee competitively but that stopped when I started working, and ever since then I’ve been searching for a new physical activity to stick with.
5. What was the first concert you went to?
I think it was a piano recital, or ballet, when I was 4 or 5. But the first concert I went to myself was HFStival which was a 2-day rock festival in 2001 - Coldplay, Lifehouse, Tenacious D, Incubus, Fuel, 3 Doors Down and Green Day, it was amazing.
